Principal's Message

Dear Barack Obama Global Preparation Academy STEAM Magnet Families and Guests,

It is with honor and great pleasure that I will serve as the interim principal for the remainder of the 2023-2024 school year. I bring with me 25 years of experience in education, with a strong passion for academic excellence, personal growth, and a safe and inclusive learning environment. I have worked in various educational roles throughout my career, including teacher, instructional coach, coordinator, assistant principal, and current principal.

Barack Obama Global Preparation Academy has made significant progress over the years in ensuring the success of all students. We will strive to create an environment where every student is given the attention necessary to succeed. Students will experience rigorous academics and have access to career technical education and student support.

I am grateful and fortunate for the outstanding teachers and support staff at Barack Obama Global Preparation Academy. They support every student in achieving their potential, mastering content, attaining the skills necessary for college and career readiness, and providing an environment where they feel connected and supported.

This year, we introduced the Eagle Scholar Plus Program, a program that will support the learning of all students. Some students will access extra assistance in classes where they struggle to master the essential standards. In contrast, others can use their spare time as a study hall.

This is made possible by solid parent partnerships developed with our parents and community members. Parent involvement in our Parent Advisory Committee, School Site Council, and English Language Advisory Committee guides our school toward excellence.

I welcome meeting current and prospective parents and look forward to engaging in conversations on how to continue to assist our students in reaching their goals. My door is always open!
